Benito Montorio goes west: Signs to Furlined U.S.

Furlined adds award-winning commercial director and documentary filmmaker Benito Montorio to its roster for U.S commercial representation. Montorio swept the British Television Advertising Awards in London earlier this month, bringing home two Golds, two Silvers and a Bronze for the campaigns he shot for Robinsons through BBH/London and John Lewis through Adam & Eve in London. This marks his first representation deal in the U.S.

Diane McArter, managing director and partner of award-winning commercial production company Furlined says, “We’re thrilled to add Benito to the Furlined family. Benito’s work lives somewhere between fiction and reality.”

Raised in Naples, Italy and London, Montorio started his career as a documentary filmmaker exploring a range of hard-edged topics such as kidnappers, football hooligans, child cocaine smugglers and secret anti-mafia police in Sicily, many of which were produced for BBC.

Known for the unique aesthetic qualities of his film and his ability to elicit compelling performances, Montorio explains, “I strive to capture moments on film that feel too raw to be produced, yet too well photographed to be real.”
