Wild Gift, a creative collective founded by David Mitchell and Tomer DeVito, has added award-winning director and cinematographer Antony Hoffman to its team. Hoffman is known for his storytelling, performance, and film craft, which is reflected in his work for Vodafone, Lamborghini, Audi, adidas, and Peroni, among others.
Whether it is an epic large-scale production or a run-and-gun shoot with a small crew during the lockdown, Hoffman’s work is marked by its sense of humanity and emotional truth that translates well to screens big and small.
David Mitchell, Wild Gift’s Managing Director, expressed excitement at the opportunity to work with Hoffman and his unique combination of talent and experience.
“We couldn’t be happier to welcome Antony to Wild Gift,” said David Mitchell, “He brings a remarkable combination of talent and experience, having filmed extensively around the world with leading brands and agencies. He’s versatile in comedy and drama, and can shoot automotive and action-oriented campaigns like nobody’s business. He knows every angle and camera move, and has the innate ability to place the camera in the perfect spot. We’re looking forward to bringing him exciting new opportunities.”
“For the past six years I’ve been freelance and in the wild, working directly with agencies and brands,” Hoffman said. “I’ve been entrepreneurial, focused and on the daily hunt, but when I talked with David and his team, including his sales reps at Pop Arts, Commonwealth and House of Representatives, their passion awoke something in me. It simply felt right to have such a great experienced team behind me and to hand over the keys.”
Hoffman began his career as a journalist before pursuing his dream of becoming a director. His portfolio includes high-profile Super Bowl commercials such as Budweiser’s “Clydesdales” and Fiat’s “Blue Pill,” as well as collaborations with celebrities such as Antonio Banderas, Penelope Cruz, and David Beckham. Hoffman is excited about the possibility of working on campaigns for the World Cup later this year and plans to use immersive cameras to capture the essence of the game. Wild Gift is a full-service production company specializing in branded content that champions marginalized voices and stays committed to social responsibility.
“I really like working with celebrities and athletes,” Hoffman said. “They are obviously at the top of their game, and you have to match that. I’d love to work on campaigns for the World Cup later this year. I have some ideas using immersive cameras that will really capture the essence of the game.”
