72andSunny breaks new campaign for Cherry Coke and Cherry Coke Zero

Los Angeles, CA and Amsterdam, Holland-based ad agency 72andSunny is breaking a new TV commercial for Cherry Coke and Cherry Coke Zero today that will air throughout the U.S. market.

The agency is fresh off the heels of launching Microsoft’s Zune, and was charged with communicating the revamped look for the Cherry Coke brand. The new can design for Cherry Coke and Cherry Coke Zero is unveiled in the :30 second spot entitled “Downpour.”

Directed by Rad-ish of Park Pictures, the commercial brings the new product packaging to life by creating a cherry monsoon over a sprawling metropolis. This is 72andSunny’s first project for Cherry Coke and is part of a campaign that comprises radio spots and outdoor print work.

72andSunny Co-Founder and Creative Director John Boiler had this to say about the experience: “Creating work for Coke is a terrific opportunity. There’s a great deal of responsibility in respecting its place in culture and its heritage while re-introducing Cherry Coke in a fun way. The Cherry Coke team was open to trying something new and was very trusting of our vision to create a spot that embodies its brand—whimsical and a little surprising.”
